How RDA Gave Me My Life Back
I've loved horses since I was 2yrs old and ridden since I was 5yrs. In 2020, at just 11 years old, a fall left me with spinal cord damage and paraplegia. In the hospital, days after my accident, I promised myself I’d ride again. That’s when I found the RDA (Riding for the Disabled Association).
They started me on their mechanical horse, and just 10 months after my accident, they got me back on a real horse. I was overjoyed. By 2022, I had my own pony again, and with RDA’s unwavering support, I’ve competed in Dressage, even placing 4th at the 2024 Regional Finals.
The RDA gave me my life back, bringing me to the place I love most—on horseback. Your support makes stories like mine possible. Please help RDA continue transforming lives.

"I don’t think I can ever thank Nantwich & District RDA enough for their exceptional work. What the fabulous, caring volunteers and amazing horses and ponies give so many people including myself is truly wonderful and I still can’t believe they have enabled me to get back on a pony. The therapy that they provide is not only physical but mental also and I can confidently say my riding sessions are the highlight of my week. I can’t believe I’m so lucky to be able to ride in these brilliant facilities."
A mum's message

"My daughter has been riding with RDA Nantwich & District Group for the past year and her confidence has increased tremendously during this time.
I am so grateful to Sheila and the team for understanding her disability and allowing her to succeed beyond our wildest dreams. Spending time with the ponies has built her confidence as well as providing much needed physical exercise.

We have been amazed at the improvement in her mobility in such a short time. Her balance, core strength and flexibility are obvious to all. Her wonderful smile says it all - THANK YOU!"
